“We’re friends now” - Oumar ‘Reug Reug’ Kane says he and Anatoly Malykhin have squashed the beef
Newly crowned ONE heavyweight MMA world champion Oumar 'Reug Reug' Kane of Senegal says he and former divisional king 'Sladkiy' Anatoly Malykhin have let bygones be bygones.
With an intense rivalry building up all the way to their heavyweight MMA world title showdown at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Prime Video last weekend, Kane and Malykhin settled matters in the ONE Championship ring. What happened after was a good show of sportsmanship.
The two hashed it out after 'Reug Reug' took home the gold with a unanimous decision victory after five gruelling rounds.
Addressing the media at the official ONE 169 press conference backstage, 'Reug Reug' says he and his Russian rival buried the hatchet.
The Senegalese superstar said:
"Yes, we’re friends now."
However, when asked if Malykhin was the toughest fight of his career, 'Reug Reug' confidently said he was not.
The champ added:
"No, actually it was ‘Buchecha’."

ONE heavyweight MMA world champion Oumar 'Reug Reug' Kane already has 26 pounds of gold draped over his shoulders, but the Senegalese star wants even more.
'Reug Reug' says that in his next fight, he's going to get a finish with an epic performance that will line him up for a hefty bonus.
He told the media:
"I'm just going to fight for the 100K [bonus] so whoever is going to bring me 100K, I'm going to fight him."
