“We’re going to go for it” - Jonathan Haggerty motivated to show his improvements against Superlek
Two-sport kingpin Jonathan Haggerty is deep in preparation for his next epic matchup against fellow ONE world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9. Haggerty is slated to defend his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title against Superlek, who will climb up into the UK superstar's division at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6 inside the Ball Arena.
As the preparation continues, Haggerty recently published a clip titled Road to Superlek on his official YouTube channel, where he shared some words amid his gruesome training camp session.
In the clip, Haggerty said:
"Right, my movement is there, we’re ready. And I haven’t really started camp, but the movement’s there. We’ve got our plan for the 12-week fight camp. Where we’re going to go for it and what we’re going to do for it, so [I am] motivated now.
Haggerty added:
"Still quite a long way, but get it done now, get it done early, no excuses. [We’ve got] all the time in the world, ‘and still’ [the world champion]."
While it is still too early to know who's going to take the 'W' in that epic showdown between two of the biggest strikers in the world's largest martial arts organization, the fight will surely be thrilling with lots of highlight reels to come.
Jonathan Haggerty wants to prove a point in his epic match with Superlek
For Jonathan Haggerty, retaining the 26-pound golden belt will not be his only goal when he clashes with ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9.
'The General' aims to exact revenge against Superlek, who defeated him six years ago after a doctor's stoppage due to a cut.
Moreover, a victory for the UK superstar will also prove that he's one of the best pure strikers on the planet at the moment.
ONE 168: Denver will air live in U.S. primetime from the Ball Arena on Sept. 6. Tickets for the event are now available on sale on Ticketmaster.
