“We’re gonna make it happen!” - KO machine John Lineker calls for Rodtang super fight after second Muay Thai win in Bangkok
John Lineker is ready to push his Muay Thai portfolio to the highest possible level.
The former ONE bantamweight MMA world champion is coming off his second professional Muay Thai win when he knocked out Alexey Balyko at ONE Fight Night 25 this weekend at Lumpinee Stadium.
Following his win in Bangkok, Lineker wasted no time calling out ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion to a potential superfight.
Lineker told ONE Championship commentator Mitch Chilson he wants to match up against Rodtang and even implored ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong to make the fight happen:
"Chatri put me to a fight against Rodtang, we’re gonna make it happen!"
Lineker is primarily a career MMA fighter, but his natural power has translated perfectly well to the all-striking discipline.
'Hands of Stone' made his Muay Thai debut ONE 168: Denver in September this year and proceeded to put the sport on notice.
Banking on his concussive punches, Lineker unleashed his lethal hooks and scored a second-round knockout win against American star Asa Ten Pow at Ball Arena.
Lineker then chalked up a similar win in his second Muay Thai match when he bludgeoned Balyko in Bangkok.
The Brazilian knockout machine has maintained that his main focus is MMA, but the way he's laid Ten Pow and Balyko out in successive fashion could be a precursor to his potential as a two-sport menace.
John Lineker says a match against Rodtang Jitmuangnon would be insane
John Lineker has sent almost everyone he faced to the shadow realm, and he believes he has what it takes to do the unthinkable if he ever gets the chance to square off against Rodtang Jitmuangnon.
The ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion is often seen as the hardest fighter to put down due to his adamantine chin, yet Lineker is confident his hammer fists could do some damage against the Thai megastar.
Lineker said in a previous interview with ONE Championship:
"In Muay Thai, a fight against Rodtang [Jitmuangnon] would be interesting, and I think the fans would really enjoy watching it. I think it would be insane!"
Lineker has a record of eight wins in ONE Championship, with all six of his opponents succumbing to his mythical power.
