“We try to be the best version” - MMA legend Demetrious Johnson shares his parenting style to his three children
Demetrious Johnson has been an exemplary figure both in and out of the ONE Circle, and he continues to strive to be the best version possible for his children.
Throughout his journey in the mixed martial arts world, the GOAT and ONE flyweight MMA world champion has been identified with epic fights, strong mental fortitude, and versatile skills, but he also has a softer side when it comes to family.
Johnson opened up in his latest YouTube podcast, Mighty Cast which dropped on Wednesday, where he sat down with now-retired ONE Championship superstar Angela Lee.
Here, 'Mighty Mouse' shared several ways for him to be the best version of a father for his children:
"So we try to, you know, be the best version we would want to have as parents when we were kids, right. So it's going to happen and I think having an open discussion, having a save space for our children, our loved ones, is a good thing."

Demetrious Johnson stays sharp for possible return to action at any point
For a legendary figure like Demetrious Johnson, coming back into action might be part of his future plans, but he has yet to confirm any signs of returning to MMA in the near future.
Despite the fact, Johnson told MMA Junkie earlier this year that he is keeping himself ready just in case something 'fun' comes along, adding he's still open to competing in MMA and concentrating on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the moment.
'Mighty Mouse' said:
"I'm always going to leave that door open because something might land in my lap or, 'Oh that sounds fun! Let's make it happen.' So I'm still training, still staying fresh, and learning more in no-gi in jiu-jitsu. But we'll see."
Demetrious Johnson's last fight was in May 2023, where he headlined ONE Championship's on-ground debut on U.S. soil, but he has been busy with various high-level BJJ competitions and gained success in each one of them.
