"We all want to see again" - Jonathan Haggerty perfectly predicted his rematch against Superlek in old Instagram post
Jonathan Haggerty has longed for a rematch with Superlek Kiatmoo9, and very soon, the two will square off for all the marbles. In fact, Haggerty took to social media more than five years ago to call for a fight against Superlek.
ONE Championship recently looked back at this old post from Haggerty. In the caption, they wrote:
"Six years on and "The General" has got his wish 🤯 How will the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship between Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek unfold on September 6? 👀 @jhaggerty_ @superlek789"
The post featured a photo of 'The General' and 'The Kicking Machine' from their first match at YOKKAO in 2018. In the post, Haggerty claimed that a rematch between the two was a fight everyone wanted to see.
During their first meeting, Superlek got the best out of Haggerty and stopped him with a TKO finish to draw first blood in their head-to-head matchup. Since that first fight, both have been signed under the world's largest martial arts organization and have thrived.
Haggerty, who first became a ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion, currently reigns as the bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing king, while Superlek holds the ONE flyweight kickboxing world title.
