"We will have an excellent fight" - John Lineker expects an all-out brawl against striking specialist Asa Ten Pow
John Lineker has built a reputation that precedes him wherever he goes in his career. The Brazilian brawler always brings it each time that he steps inside the Circle to compete.
With his iron chin and heavy hands, he can maraud through the distance and let his strikes go to see what his opponents are made of. Now he's set to return to familiar territory when he competes on US soil at the Ball Arena in Denver on Sept. 6.
Lineker will be facing another competitor who is well-versed in the striking arts as Asa Ten Pow welcomes him to the bantamweight Muay Thai division. 'Hands of Stone' has always preferred to keep the fight standing so trading strikes won't be an issue for him.
In a recent interview with ONE Championship, Lineker spoke about his expectations for this fight based on his experiences with his opponent:
"He is a very tough and technical athlete. I had the opportunity to meet him a few times backstage at ONE events, and he is a really nice guy. I am sure we will have an excellent fight."
John Lineker will bring heavy hands to Muay Thai
John Lineker may not have much experience competing in Muay Thai but he's very accustomed to competing in firefights.
The former bantamweight MMA world champion may not have a catalog of Muay Thai fights to draw on but at the end of the day, he always has the ferocious power in his hands.
It will be a test of strength versus precision when he takes on Asa Ten Pow who will surely look to play the matador in this fight rather than meeting Lineker head-on, which few men can do.
Either way, you can bet that we are in for a firefight at ONE's return to the United States on Sept. 6.
