"Well that was decisive" - Fans in pure awe of Superbon's perfect head kick knockout of sporting legend Giorgio Petrosyan
After successfully winning his first fight in ONE Championship in July 2020 against Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong, Superbon earned the championship opportunity against Giorgio Petrosyan in his second fight at ONE: First Strike in October 2021 for the ONE featherweight kickboxing world title.
The Thai superstar scored a picture-perfect knockout in the second round to dethrone Petrsoyan and become the inaugural king of the division.
The world's largest martial arts organization reposted the full fight of the match on their official YouTube channel, and they wrote the video's description with:
"Interim featherweight kickboxing king Superbon is out to stun Thai compatriot "Smokin" Jo Nattawut when they collide in a Muay Thai clash at ONE Friday Fights 81 on September 27! Ahead of their duel, look back at his atomic performance against the legendary Giorgio Petrosyan at ONE: FIRST STRIKE in 2021!"
Superbon only needed 20 seconds in the second frame to uncork the beautiful roundhouse kick that landed directly on Petrosyan's jaw, instantly putting him out cold.
This incredible performance and showing by the Superbon Training Camp representative has received positive messages from fans, as users @LucieOne, @suraekincannon66, @lancecahill5486, @The_Sovereign, and @MGooGM commented:
"Easily one of THE hardest strikes of any kind I have ever seen landed on any human being."
"Sleep tight because Superbon knocked you into oblivion. ❤️❤️ Keep Kicking Superbon ❤️❤️❤️💪👑🤩"
"Superbon launched many kicks to his opponent's head area. Eventually one of them found its target."
"Well that was decisive."
"I read something that when you "posture" when you get knocked out (stiffen in the manner Petrosyan did - toes curled, wrists curled, feet straight out), in only 10% of the cases does a person not experience a grade 2 concussion or TBI. Those are the real life-shortening knockouts."
Superbon says he wants to go to Atlanta and take famed coach Trainer Gae with him
Superbon is now ready to face his fellow Thai superstar Jo Nattawut in the main event of ONE Friday Fights on Sept. 27 inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Before he gets his hands against Smokin' Jo, he recently caught up with the South China Morning Post for an interview and shared his desire to compete in the upcoming ONE 169: Atlanta card on November 8.
The 34-year-old athlete stated:
"I have never been to Atlanta before, but I have been to a lot of places in America. But one thing I want to do is to bring my trainer to the US. Trainer Gae has said he wanted to go to the US for a long time, so if I have a chance there, I'm gonna bring him there. I'm gonna make his dream a success."
ONE Friday Fights 81 will air live on pay-per-view at watch.onefc.com.
