ONE lightweight Muay Thai world champion Regian Eersel's fighting style relies heavily on pressuring his opponents into making mistakes that leave them open for a devastating counterblow.

Before 'The Immortal' rematches reigning ONE lightweight kickboxing world champion Alexis Nicolas at ONE Fight Night 25 on Friday, Oct. 4, inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, the promotion shared highlights of Eersel's all-out offensive style on Instagram:

Eersel's rise to global megastar status featured a 22-fight winning streak over eight years and winning the inaugural ONE lightweight kickboxing and Muay Thai world championships, among other accolades.

However, the Surinamese-Dutch star's offense surprisingly struggled against Nicolas' methodically executed game plan at ONE Fight Night 21 this past April. Eersel ultimately lost the fight and the ONE lightweight kickboxing crown via unanimous decision.

Regian Eersel shares motivations behind immediate world title rematch with Alexis Nicolas

Regian Eersel remains unconvinced with how Alexis Nicolas supplanted him as the new king of the ONE lightweight kickboxing division earlier this year, which prompted him to ask for an immediate rematch.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Eersel said:

"I asked for an immediate rematch because I rewatched the fight with my team and we came to the conclusion that we have to do it again. You cannot win against a champion like that with only a one-point difference. And that's why we asked for the rematch."
