What Dricus du Plessis feels about Sean Strickland fighting the UFC 305 winner
Sean Strickland will get another crack at UFC gold. UFC CEO Dana White confirmed that the outspoken middleweight will face the winner of the upcoming Israel Adesanya vs. Dricus du Plessis title fight at UFC 305.
Strickland’s path back to the title has been anything but straightforward. He captured the middleweight belt from Alex Pereira in January but lost it to Dricus du Plessis in a highly contested rematch just weeks later. Undeterred, Strickland defeated Paulo Costa to solidify his position as the number one contender.
The announcement comes as no surprise to Strickland, who has been vocal about his desire to rematch the South African. Despite losing the title, the American has remained a dominant force in the division.
Meanwhile, Du Plessis, the reigning champion, is preparing for a monumental clash against the former champion Adesanya. With Strickland looming as the next challenger, the South African has acknowledged the challenges that lie ahead. While expressing respect for both contenders, du Plessis remains focused on retaining his title.
Reacting to the news of Strickland fighting the winner, 'Stillknocks' said:
"There's pros and cons in fighting any of these three [Strickland, Khamzat or Whittaker] guys."

Dricus du Plessis reveals Israel Adesanya's potential weakness ahead of UFC 305 clash
Dricus du Plessis has identified a potential weakness in Israel Adesanya ahead of their highly anticipated UFC 305 title clash. After facing Sean Strickland, who defeated Adesanya, du Plessis believes Strickland's style could be a kryptonite for the champion.
He initially thought Adesanya had an off night against Strickland but changed his mind after experiencing Strickland's fighting style firsthand.
Speaking to New York Post Sports, 'Stillknocks' said:
"I honestly thought that nine times out of 10... [Strickland beating Adesanya] that can't happen again. Izzy will beat him. That was obviously actually before I fought Strickland and then after fighting Strickland, my whole opinion around this changed... I started thinking that Adesanya wasn't off that night. It was just Strickland who completely shut down [Adesanya's] game, and he enforced his game, and that style that Strickland fights was the kyptonite for a guy like Adesanya."
