What shirt was Jorge Masvidal wearing at UFC 287 media day? 'Gamebred' seen sporting an Italian opera inspired outfit
Jorge Masvidal turned heads at the UFC 287 media day by sporting an Italian opera-inspired outfit. Masvidal, who is known for his flashy style both in and out of the octagon, was seen wearing a Versace Le Maschere shirt.
Masvidal has always been known for his love of fashion and has often made headlines for his unique style choices. The shirt, which features a bold print of Venetian masks and opera-inspired designs, is part of Versace's Spring/Summer 2023 collection.
'Gamebred' will be taking on Gilbert Burns in an epic clash at UFC 287, which takes place in his hometown of Miami, Florida.
Masvidal has lost his last three bouts, albeit to the cream of the crop at 170 pounds, with two defeats to Kamaru Usman and a latest to Colby Covington.
But his beef with welterweight champion Leon Edwards means that Masvidal's name is still being mentioned as a possible opponent for 'Rocky'.
Following Edwards' recent win over Kamaru Usman at UFC 286, Dana White announced that Colby Covington would be fighting for the title next at the post-event press conference. But there is an underlying feeling that a stellar performance from Jorge Masvidal at UFC 287 could force White to change his mind.
Gilbert Burns has only lost twice since 2018, to Kamaru Usman and Khamzat Chimaev, and will provide 'Gamebred' with a tough test. 'Durinho' is eager for a title shot of his own, and will hope to use his incredible grappling skills to dominate Masvidal on the ground.
Jorge Masvidal calls out Colby Covington over claims of 'brain injury' from alleged assault
Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington had a well-documented fallout that began after 'Chaos' allegedly refused to pay Masvidal's striking coach.
The pair had the chance to settle their differences in the octagon at UFC 272 on March 5 2022, which 'Chaos' won via unanimous decision. But tensions between the former friends were still high, and several weeks later 'Gamebred' allegedly attacked Covington outside a restaurant in Miami.
Colby Covington claimed that he received a brain injury from the alleged attack, which Jorge Masvidal has now used to plead his case for a title shot instead of 'Chaos'.
'Gamebred' appeared at the UFC 287 pre-fight press conference and said this:
"I've currently got three felonies 'cause this b***h Colby says [that] I gave him a brain injury. So how the f**k is he gonna fight for any titles? That's what I wanna know. The UFC are gonna get sued if that guy goes in [to the octagon] and something like that happens..."
