When Joe Rogan slammed "terrible" Anthony Joshua for holding fake titles: "Everybody knows this is where the real title is!"

Years ago, in 2018, Joe Rogan welcomed Deontay Wilder to his podcast, where the pair discussed numerous topics. Among them was the then much-talked about boxing match between him and Anthony Joshua, which unfortunately, never came to fruition, for which many have blamed Joshua.

The episode in question was #51 of the JRE MMA Show, which is no longer available on YouTube. It is now available on Spotify. The topic of Joshua emerged when Rogan and Wilder discussed the latter's controversial boxing match with Tyson Fury and how much interest the rematch would generate.

"It's going to be incredible. And it puts Anthony Joshua in a terrible situation. Terrible! He looks awful."

Naturally, Wilder agreed, even implying that Joshua had grown desperate to book the anticipated matchup between the pair, despite past failed attempts. This caused Rogan to chime in with more criticism for the Englishman.

"He looks terrible. He's going to fight some other guy, and no one gives a fu*k. And it's your titles, whatever titles you got, they're bullsh*t! They don't mean anything! Everybody knows this is where the real title is! It's a wrap now."

Wilder would go on to box Fury twice more, losing via TKO both times. The losses ultimately led to 'The Bronze Bomber's' downfall, as he has been unable to recapture the magic of his once fearsome heavyweight run. He is now 1-4 in his last five fights, with three stoppage losses, and retirement rumors circulating.

Joe Rogan is a noted boxing fan

Despite being the UFC's most tenured commentator, Joe Rogan is an all-around combat sports fan, and isn't just focused on MMA. He has a documented love of boxing, and often shares his opinion on the sport's most notable fighters. On episode #79 of the JRE MMA Show, he had great praise for Floyd Mayweather.

"I mean, people, just because of the fact that he won decisions by playing it safe, people don't get excited about him and don't recognize him with the all-time greats. He's the best-ever."

It isn't the first time that Rogan has praised a boxer as the best-ever, as he has also hailed Ukrainian legend Vasiliy Lomachenko as such on episode #952 of The Joe Rogan Experience.
