When Joe Rogan and Snoop Dogg discussed "freak of nature" Khamzat Chimaev's entertainment value and rise in the UFC

Three years ago, Joe Rogan and Snoop Dogg talked about Khamzat Chimaev's entertainment value in the UFC.

In November 2021, the UFC commentator released episode #1733 of his Joe Rogan Experience podcast featuring Snoop Dogg. The worldwide celebrities talked about various topics, including how athletes don't learn to properly handle their finances.

While talking about financial management, Rogan and Snoop Dogg mentioned how Conor McGregor turned his UFC money into generational wealth.

They followed up the topic by discussing special athletes, leading to the following conversation about Chimaev, who held a 4-0 promotional record at the time.

Rogan asked:

"Do you know who Khamzat Chimaev is? That's another guy that everyone's like, 'I can't wait to see that motherf*cker fight again. Can he fight again tomorrow?'"

Snoop Dogg replied:

"I want to see him fight too. I want to see him too. I don't know why, but I do want to see him fight."

Rogan added, showering praise on 'Borz':

"He's got it. Whatever that thing is, he's got it."

That spurred Snoop Dogg to remark:

"It's that interest to want to learn more about him because he's entertainment."

On Oct. 26, Khamzat Chimaev extended his promotional record to 8-0 at UFC 308 with a first-round submission against Robert Whittaker.

The 30-year-old's latest impressive performance proved he's worthy of a title shot in the eyes of many, but things are somewhat complicated considering the middleweight landscape.

Watch Rogan and Snoop Dogg's entire conversation about Chimaev, starting at 1:30 below:

What's next for Khamzat Chimaev in the UFC?

Khamzat Chimaev vs. Robert Whittaker was seen as a potential number one contender bout in the middleweight division. Before UFC 308, however, Dana White confirmed that 185-pound champion Dricus du Plessis would defend his title in a rematch against Sean Strickland in early 2025.

With that in mind, Chimaev is seemingly left with two options unless White and the UFC switch courses - endure an extended layoff for a title shot or fight another top contender.

It's unclear when Du Plessis vs. Strickland 2 will be scheduled. Chimaev might not face the winner until the middle or end of 2025, depending on recovery time.

Chimaev hasn't been overly active the last few years, but he suffered minimal damage against Whittaker and might want to fight again sooner rather than later.
