Backstage footage of the event has since gone viral, showing former US President Donald Trump leading an entourage with UFC President Dana White, likely on their way to the event gates when Jorge Masvidal suddenly appeared. The former president couldn't resist shaking hands with the fighter and engaging in a brief exchange.

During the exchange, Trump heaped praise on the UFC welterweight contender, hailing him as a "great champ" and urging White to "give him a lot of money."

Jorge Masvidal responds to Joe Rogan's words of praise for the 'Gamebred'

During an episode of his JRE podcast, host Joe Rogan spoke about Masvidal's fighting prowess, stating that he believed the fighter to be on another level and dangerous for everyone. Rogan further described Masvidal as a "f***king assassin" and a "gangster."

"I think if Masvidal was around at that time he would be dangerous for everybody, I think he is on another level. I think everyone is on another level... He is a f***king assassin. Masvidal is a gangster.”

In response to Rogan's comments, Masvidal spoke to MMA Junkie, lauding the commentator's extensive knowledge of boxing and MMA.

For the 38-year-old, being recognized by Rogan is a significant achievement and he referred to it as a "real-life notch." He praised Rogan as a "true connoisseur of the sport" and expressed his gratitude for the high praise he received.

"For him[Joe Rogan] to consider me one of the 'better fighters to have ever lived'... that's a real-life notch right there... I consider him a f**king true connoisseur of the sport."
