When Laura Sanko penned heartfelt message to Francis Ngannou after his last UFC win: "He put me down just in time to go on camera"
Francis Ngannou's victory at UFC 270 earned a lot of respect from the MMA community, including Laura Sanko. The UFC commentator put out an Instagram post to congratulate 'The Predator' on January 23, 2022. However, Sanko's words also revealed how Ngannou was a true gentleman.
Ngannou defended his UFC heavyweight gold successfully for the first time at UFC 270 against Ciryl Gane. The entire UFC community knew about the devastating power behind his strikes, which had earned him multiple victories. But he changed his style to a grappling-heavy one for this fight, becoming the kryptonite for Gane's slick striking.
Sanko's congratulatory post for Ngannou also contained a video that showcased how Ngannou took Sanko on a merry-go-round ride on his arm. However, she also detailed that Ngannou had the perfect sense of timing, as he put her down just in time to start the interview.
"What a night at UFC 270! This is almost how my interview with Francis started 🤣 but he put me down just in time to go on camera 😅 A truly incredible performance for him. Especially considering all that was at stake and dealing with a severe knee injury coming in. Oh, and apparently Francis can grapple 🤯. Congratulations to @francisngannou and his coach @eric_xcmma and the whole team at Xtreme Couture!"
'The Predator' decided to part ways with the UFC at the beginning of 2023. But his fans are excited once more as the date for his return to the MMA cage is getting closer.
Francis Ngannou is in prime condition to make his MMA comeback
Francis Ngannou decided to step into the boxing ring after his UFC exit, however, he faced a loss in both fights. Ngannou will be making his comeback at PFL: Battle of the Giants on Oct. 19 against the PFL heavyweight tournament winner, Renan Fereira.
'The Predator' recently caught up with MMA Junkie's Mike Bohn for an interview where he revealed that he is having a smooth training camp. The Cameroon native also detailed that his body was feeling "strong" and good enough to throw kicks now.
"I had a knee surgery that was over two years, two years and a half [ago] now and it took me quite a long time, over a year, to really get back, but now I'm very strong. By the time that I get back into fight, I get very strong. So yes, I can kick even though kicking is not like, my cup of tea, but I do kick."
