When MMA manager Ali Abdelaziz slapped Dillon Danis backstage at UFC 268
Ali Abdelaziz and Dillon Danis once got into an altercation backstage at a UFC pay-per-view, which led to Danis being escorted from the building and temporarily banned from future events.
Back in 2021, Kamaru Usman faced Colby Covington in the main event of UFC 268 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Justin Gaethje also faced Michael Chandler on the night, which meant Abdelaziz, manager of both Usman and Gaethje, was in attendance.
Following the exciting night of action, news started breaking shortly afterwards that Abdelaziz been involved in an altercation with somebody backstage. That person was later confirmed to be Danis, who had made his way into the back without permission.
According to eye-witness accounts, Danis instigated the argument between the pair as he seeked retribution for the infamous UFC 229 brawl that took place between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov's camps in 2018.
'El Jefe' was majorly involved in the incident, with Nurmagomedov jumping out of the cage in an attempt to attack him following the fight.
After exchanging words backstage with Abdelaziz, the MMA manager then reportedly struck Danis across the face before security jumped in to separate them. Danis was then thrown out of the building.
In a now deleted tweet, Michael Bisping, who was working on the pay-per-view, shed some light on the situation as he witnessed what happened firsthand. 'The Count' wrote:
"So pathetic. FYI people, Dildo was legit slapped in the face like a b*tch backstage and then ejected and banned from all UFC events. Haha."
Ali Abdelaziz and Dillon Danis go back-and-forth on social media once again
Following their 2021 altercation, there still appears to be no love lost between Ali Abdelaziz and Dillon Danis.
The pair recently got into another heated exchange on social media, after Danis had posted what looked to be a photoshopped message from Khabib Nurmagomedov towards a female model on Instagram. He captioned the post:
"Haram"
The Dominance MMA CEO, who manages 'The Eagle', then responded to Danis' post, stating that he'll be seeing the former Bellator star "soon." He wrote:
"You don't learn your lesson. I see you soon."
'El Jefe' then fired back with a highly controversial dig at Ali Abdelaziz, appearing to reference the 9/11 terror attacks:
"Gonna have some friends highjack [sic] some more planes and fly them into my apartment?"
