“When the time is right” - Denice Zamboanga feels showdown with close friend Stamp Fairtex is inevitable

Second-ranked ONE Championship women's atomweight MMA contender 'The Menace' Denice Zamboanga of the Philippines may have missed out on a blockbuster clash with former Fairtex training partner Stamp Fairtex. But she knows they will meet in the Circle eventually.

Zamboanga says it's inevitable. 'The Menace' was originally scheduled to challenge Stamp for her atomweight gold earlier this year, but the Thai champion fell to injury in training and had to pull out.

Stamp was later replaced by the Ukraine's Alyona Rassohyna on short notice but then it was Zamboanga who fell to injury and had to pull out. In short, it was just an injury-riddled mess. But Zamboanga says she is just getting better, recovering, and getting healthy, and she'll soon be ready to go.

Zamboanga told YouTube channel, The MMA Superfan:

"I’d pick them both, maybe at the same time. But on a serious note, I’d fight anyone [ONE gives me]. But I do feel fans want to see me fight Stamp more, given our history. I feel like it’s a long time coming. When the time is right, it’s Stamp versus Denice."

Denice Zamboanga says botched world title shots will make victory more epic: "I’m going to appreciate the moment more"

'The Menace' Denice Zamboanga says the constant stumbling blocks to a world title shot are only blips on her path to greatness, and will only make victory taste much sweeter once she achieves it.

She told The MMA Superfan:

"I’ve been through a lot and waited so long for this, I feel like once I get the belt it’s going to be so much sweeter. I worked really hard and once it pays off I feel like I’m going to appreciate the moment more."
