“When you win, you can have a rest” - Jonathan Haggerty never left the lab after shocking loss to Superlek

Reigning ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion and former bantamweight Muay Thai titleholder 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty of the United Kingdom isn't dwelling on his latest setback, no matter how disappointing it was.

Haggerty dropped a 49-second knockout defeat to longtime rival 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 of Thailand. The two went to war at ONE 168: Denver, which took place last month at Denver, Colorado's famous Ball Arena.

As heartbreaking as the loss was, Haggerty says he's in good spirits. In fact, he immediately went right back to the gym as soon as he got home.

It's safe to say, 'The General' isn't sweating the loss and wants to get right back in there as soon as possible.

"I feel like when you win, you can have a rest. You enjoy yourself. But I lost. I don’t want to lose again by missing a day in training. So I’m keeping the training up."

Needless to say, fans can't wait to see Haggerty back in action at the soonest possible time.

Jonathan Haggerty wanted to prove a point against Superlek: "I wanted to show him who the bigger man was"

'The General' Jonathan Haggerty, already having two bantamweight belts over his shoulders, felt he had the upper hand against flyweight kickboxing king 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 168: Denver last month.

Unfortunately, underestimating the Thai dynamo was the worst thing he could have done, and it immediately backfired.

Haggerty talked about his mindset heading into the fight:

"He was coming up from flyweight, I felt like I wanted to show him who the bigger man was and, just that really, and not taking my time. But like I said, learning curve and I’ll be back."
