“When you’re good at something, you should get paid well for it” - Nico Carrillo on seizing $50,000 performance bonus
After adding another highlight-reel knockout to his resume, Scottish sensation Nico Carrillo banked a US$50,000 bonus from ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
Returning to the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, for a bantamweight Muay Thai clash with Saemapetch Fairtex, 'King of the North' punctuated his spot at the top of the rankings with a brilliant second-round KO of the Thai legend at ONE Fight Night 23 on Prime Video.
Immediately following the victory, Carrillo spoke with ONE commentator Mitch Chilson in the ring where he received yet another $50,000 bonus for his effort.
Speaking with Sportskeeda MMA in the wake of his fourth-straight win, Carrillo made it clear that he's not motivated by money, but he believes that if you're good at something, you should be paid accordingly. He said:
"Like I said in an interview before, I'm not money-orientated, but when you're good at something, you should get paid well for it".

With the win over Saemapetch inside the Mecca of Muay Thai, Nico Carrillo is now a perfect 4-0 in ONE Championship and is closing in on an incredible 2,000 days since his last loss.
