Where is Jose Aldo from? All about the Brazilian featherweight's birthplace and home country
Jose Aldo is an all-time great UFC featherweight and was a multi-time champion at 145 pounds in the company.
Aldo also put together an impressive run as WEC featherweight champion before even debuting with the UFC. Plus, in relatively more recent times, he has also fought for bantamweight gold in the UFC.

Where is Jose Aldo from?
Per an MMA Fighting feature, Jose Aldo grew up in Manaus, Amazonas as a child. He came from a humble background with a bricklaying father and a mother who was a housewife. Aldo's parents split when he was young but stated he felt support from both all throughout his efforts in life.
From there, Aldo primarily lived with his father Jose Aldo Sr. who taught him a tremendous work ethic while providing him with food and a place to live during lean times financially. The decorated mixed martial artist initially had a passion for soccer before seguing into capoeira and then jiu jitsu thereafter.
Aldo Jr. began competing in tournaments as early as May 1999 in the gentle art and the rest is history. Rio De Janeiro is often associated with Aldo who went there at 15 to compete in his first major jiu jitsu tournament and would eventually leave behind the comfort of his loved ones to move there full time.
Jose Aldo returns to compete in his home country
The man who is called by many 'The King of Rio' will once again fight in Rio De Janeiro and does so in his return from MMA retirement next week.
On May 4, Aldo will collide with the number 13 ranked bantamweight in the company Jonathan Martinez.
The Manaus native last time fought in Rio in May 2019. Aldo fell short to Alexander Volkanovski via unanimous decision during their UFC 237 clash.
Aldo last competed in the UFC in general in August 2022 against the presently ranked number one bantamweight contender. The 37-year-old would drop another unanimous decision to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 278.
Aldo looks to get back to the win column in general and return to winning ways in Rio de Janeiro in the process. He has a chance to do just that against a simialrly devastating leg kicker in Martinez and we are now just days out.
