"Where is my thong?" - Paulo Costa hilariously reacts to former UFC fighter Uriah Hall criticizing the promotion for allegedly paying ring girls much more than many fighters
UFC middleweight Paulo Costa has remained true to form after his hilarious response to former fighter Uriah Hall's recent comments about fighter pay.
Hall left the UFC in August earlier this year and it was recently announced that he's going to make his boxing debut on the undercard of Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva against Le'Veon Bell. The 38-year-old took part in a virtual media day for his upcoming bout and was asked about the old adage of fighter pay in the UFC.
He said:
"I know people that are making $10,000 to show, $10,000 to win, which is ridiculous because you're going out there and fighting and you're putting your brain cells on the line and f***ing ring card girls are making $70,000 which is utterly f***ing ridiculous"
'Borrachinha' responded to the quote on Twitter and was surprised by the amount of money some of the ring girls were making. In true Paulo Costa style, the Brazilian joked that maybe he needs to grab his underwear.
"70$ thousand? Where is my thong?"
Hall added that he originally retired from the UFC without any plans to go into another combat sport. The former middleweight fighter added that the payment he was offered was enough for him to make his boxing debut. Hall also hinted that he is getting paid more than he did during his tenure with the UFC.
Paulo Costa reveals he didn't make any respectful remarks to Luke Rockhold, despite Daniel Cormier saying he did
UFC 278 will go down in history for a number of reasons. Leon Edwards' headkick KO win over champion Kamaru Usman immediately comes to mind but the co-main event also delivered a barn burner from start to finish.
Paulo Costa and Luke Rockhold went to war in what proved to be the American's final appearance inside the octagon. 'Cool Hand' bowed out of the organization with a unanimous decision loss to 'Borrachinha' but both men earned the Fight of the Night bonus.
Daniel Cormier recently discussed Rockhold's retirement and pleaded with the former middleweight champ to stay retired. 'DC' also added that Costa had also reportedly said the same:
“Luke, don’t come back. It’s only been a few weeks and it was absolutely perfect. Because Luke Rockhold has been the guy that has not been loved, but in that performance, he gained the praise of the masses. Not only did he gain the praise of the masses though, he gained the praise of his opponent in the competition. Paulo Costa came up to me a week later and told me how special it was to share the octagon with Luke."
Paulo Costa then took to Instagram and Twitter to refute Cormier's comments:
"No I didn't say nothing. Sorry"
