"Who else?"- Israel Adesanya hilariously reacts to the UFC 281 trailer hyping Alex Pereira by pointing out that Poatan hasn't beaten any top 5 fighters except Sean Strickland

Israel Adesanya has taken yet another dig at Alex Pereira's UFC record while reacting to a promo for their upcoming UFC 281 clash. The UFC 281 headliner was being promoted during the UFC 280 broadcast, with Daniel Cormier hyping up Pereira's latest win against Sean Strickland.

Reacting to the promo, Adesanya hilariously asked who else was on the Brazilian's resumé besides Strickland. The UFC middleweight champion said on his YouTube channel:

"Who else? [Laughs] It's like, Sean Strickland. I'm like, 'Okay, go on.' [Laughs] Who else? You gotta sell it though man. Sell me the show, sell me the dream."

Alex Pereira holds two kickboxing victories over Adesanya, including a 2016 knockout. 'Poatan' has been propelled to a title shot after racking up three UFC wins within a year of joining the promotion.

The Brazilian's most notable win came in his last outing when Sean Strickland fell prey to his signature left hook.

Israel Adesanya doesn't think Alex Pereira has earned himself a title shot

Alex Pereira's matchup against Sean Strickland was essentially a No.1 contender matchup despite 'Poatan' having a 5-1 pro record. With no ranked opponents on Pereira's resumé apart from Strickland, Israel Adesanya did not deem his opponent worthy of a title shot.

However, Adesanya understands Pereira's positioning in the UFC owing to the storyline of his rivalry with 'Poatan'. 'The Last Stylebender' did not mind giving the Brazilian a title shot as it would probably mean a bigger paycheck. The UFC middleweight champion said ahead of UFC 276:

"Earned? I don’t think he’s earned it, to be honest. I like it though. I like the tailor-made matchups though, because it makes a bigger story, and guess what? A bigger, bigger paycheck for myself when we fight. So, deserve? I don’t know. Earned? Definitely not. But he’s here and I like it and I want it.”

Adesanya went on to successfully defend his title against Jared Cannonier in a lackluster and highly technical affair. 'The Last Stylebender' called out Pereira, who knocked out Strickland on the same card.
