Who is Nick Ball? All about the undefeated British boxer

Nick Ball is all set compete on Oct. 5. The 27-year-old boxer will defend his WBA featherweight belt for the first time against Ronny Rios. The matchup will headline the Queensbury Promotions card, which will be held at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, England.

Who is Nick Ball?

Nick Ball, also known as the 'Wrecking Ball,' is a 27-year-old British boxer. Ball was born in Kirkby, Merseyside in England. He is currently undefeated with an impressive 20-0-1 record, with 11 of those 20 victories coming via knockout.

After his first 19 professional fights, Ball locked horns against Rey Vargas for the WBA featherweight championship in March 2024. The two squared off in the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The bout was a razor-close affair that went the 12-round distance and ended in a split draw. The three judges scored the bout 114-112 (Vargas), 116-110 (Ball) and 113-113.

Although Ball could not take the belt home, he was given another shot at the championship in his next outing. 'Wrecking Ball' was matched up against Raymond Ford for the WBA featherweight belt in June 2024.

The fight turned out to be another highly competitive affair that ended with Ball taking home the victory via split decision. The three judges scored the contest 113-110, 113-110 and 110-113 in favor of the 27-year-old.

Nick Ball recently had a conversation with Queensbury, where he was asked about the possibility of fighting 'The Monster.' He responded by saying that he would welcome the matchup:

"Yeah! Anyone really, anyone who they are calling the top guy and the best. Anyone they are speaking about highly, I want to be fighting them, definitely. I will be waiting for him."
