Why was Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson postponed? Real reason behind delay

Mike Tyson's highly-anticipated match against Jake Paul was postponed after 'Iron Mike' suffered an ulcer flare-up. The health issue occurred during a flight from Los Angeles to Miami and required immediate medical attention.

Following a consultation with healthcare professionals it was advised that Tyson engage in minimal to light training for several weeks before resuming his full training regimen.

Roy Jones Jr. believes rule change would benefit Mike Tyson his bout against Jake Paul

Roy Jones Jr. has stated that the new rules for the upcoming professional heavyweight fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson favor the older boxer. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has approved the match with modifications.

Paul and Tyson will wear 14oz gloves instead of the standard 10oz gloves used in professional boxing. This change is intended to reduce the impact of their punches and lower the risk of knockouts. The fight will consist of eight two-minute rounds rather than the usual three-minute rounds.

Jones who faced Tyson in an exhibition match in 2020, believes Tyson has significant advantages in this format.

Speaking to TalkSport, he said:

"I’m going to tell you this, when I boxed him four years ago it was only two-minute rounds but surprisingly he didn’t decline, he stayed the same the whole fight. And that surprised me. If they are doing two-minute rounds then Mike is not going to tire out, I already know that because I watched him do that.”
