Will Jorge Masvidal retire from MMA after UFC 287? 'Gamebred' reveals
Jorge Masvidal could call it quits if he ends up losing to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 this weekend.
'Gamebred' is set to return to the octagon for the first time in over a year and there's a lot at stake. Masvidal has lost his last three fights in the UFC, twice against Kamaru Usman and once against his bitter rival Colby Covington.
Another loss could prove to be the end of the road for the BMF titleholder. However, a win over Gilbert Burns could vault him straight back into title contention.
At 38 years old, Jorge Masvidal isn't getting any younger and is aware that his time inside the octagon is limited. While talking about the same in the Countdown preview of UFC 287, 'Gamebred' suggested that his fight against Gilbert Burns could be "the last one":
"This could be the last one. If I lose, I'm pretty much calling it quits but a win against Gilbert means that things are headed in the right direction, so if I roll the dice and do everything right, I'm going for it all."

Daniel Cormier claims Jorge Masvidal could land a title shot with a win at UFC 287
Daniel Cormier believes Jorge Masvidal could leapfrog the division and get a title shot with a win at UFC 287.
Regardless of the fact that Masvidal has lost his last three fights, he remains one of the biggest draws in the welterweight division. Moreover, a win over Gilbert Burns would put him back in the title mix, and given his history with champion Leon Edwards, a title shot isn't unfathomable.
Speaking on Masvidal's position in the welterweight division, Cormier said in a recent YouTube video:
"He [Masvidal] pretty much called out everybody in the welterweight division... Why's he talking about all these guys? Because he's a lightning rod and he understands that... If you're in Miami, it's gonna be a pro-Masvidal crowd, [and] he wins, gets in the middle of the octagon, and tells Joe Rogan, 'I want Leon Edwards. Come get this biscuit, come get this two-piece.' Dude, the world's gonna go crazy and Dana will look at that and go, 'Hey, man. There's a lot of history to that'... [If] this guy wins impressively, with his star-power, I could see him right in the conversation for a fight against Leon Edwards."
