"World champ level stuff" - Fans take note of Superbon's subtle tricks in landing the perfect switch kick
Current ONE interim ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon recently shared the secret to one of his favorite striking attacks and broke it down in front of his students at Superbon Training Camp.
ONE Championship posted the short clip on Instagram with the caption:
"Textbook strategies 🤓 Will Superbon emerge victorious against Tawanchai in their ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Championship rematch at ONE 170? @superbon_banchamek"
In the video, the former ONE featherweight kickboxing king demonstrated the textbook example of how he throws his front kicks and fakes his opponent. First, he fired a left kick to the body, then faked the second attempt and quickly switched to the front kick.
This trick from his sleeve was lauded by fans, especially from users @crimdawgx, @coach_dusseault, @kantfindkris, and @topboxingempire__ig, who commented:
"Perfect feint. The way he sells it by using the exact same hand movements for the second kick until he has them fooled and switches to the teep. 💯 world champ level stuff."
"Smooth technique! 👏🔥"
"170 boutta be a banger"
"Send it"
Superbon believes he will have a better performance in rematch with Tawanchai at ONE 170
The Thai superstar is scheduled to face the reigning ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai in a world championship rematch on Jan. 24 at ONE 170, which will take place inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
Ahead of that match, Superbon thinks that he will have a better performance in that second meeting with the divisional king, and he shared this during his post-fight interview at ONE Friday Fights 81 following his first-round knockout win over fellow star Thai Jo Nattawut. He explained:
"Last time, I think I wasn't a hundred percent before the fight. But I cannot say that. So next time I will be hundred percent. Then for my technique, it will be different. If you saw that fight, I think my technique, everything there I can do better, but my energy was not enough. So because my energy was not enough, I lost that fight. Against Jo, I think my technique, everything there, I looked better in that fight."
The ONE 170 card will be held inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, on Jan. 24.
