"You had it easy tonight" - Rodtang not impressed with Takeru's stunning come-from-behind win over Thant Zin
Rodtang Jitmuangnon believes Takeru Segawa wouldn't have survived if it was him on the other side of the ring at ONE Friday Fights 81.
The longtime flyweight Muay Thai world champion was in attendance at Lumpinee Stadium on Sept. 27, when 'The Natural Born Crusher' weathered early adversity against Thant Zin and scored a stunning comeback KO.
Takeru impressed a lot of fans with his grit after overcoming a knockdown scare against his hard-hitting Burmese foe in round one.
Then again, Rodtang made it clear that the Japanese star would have a harder time getting right back up when he finally feels the wrath of his power.
'The Iron Man' said when he entered the Lumpinee ring and faced off with Takeru:
"I just want to say you had it easy tonight. When you face me, it’s not going to be this easy."
Rodtang even got a little bit carried away and shoved the Team Vasileus star twice. That said, it's evident that the Thai megastar can't wait to finally settle his rivalry with Takeru after their botched showdown last January.
Rodtang injured his hand in training and regretfully pulled out of their scheduled match at ONE 165 at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.
Takeru says being hesitant in round one nearly cost him
Takeru Segawa was admittedly wary of Thant Zin's reputation as an aggressive berserker, a reason why he didn't pull the trigger right away.
However, after almost getting finished by a wild haymaker, 'The Natural Born Crusher' stepped on the gas and never let up. The Japanese star said in his post-event interview:
"In the first round, I was being too careful of my opponent. So I couldn't press that much. But in the second round, I knew I could keep the distance close, and I got to finish him."
