"You have to just get through it" - Jonathan Haggerty speaks on his mindset after Felipe Lobo knocked him down
Jonathan Haggerty maintained a positive mindset during his tough Muay Thai battle with Felipe Lobo.
On February 16, Haggerty defended his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title against Lobo in the ONE Fight Night 19 main event. 'The General' was a sizeable betting favorite heading into the action-packed matchup, leading to everyone being surprised when he was knocked down in round one.
Haggerty survived the early knockdown and knocked out Lobo in round three. During a recent interview with Sky Sports MMA Club, the UK superstar re-visited his tough challenge at ONE Fight Night 19 by saying this:
"I learned that whatever happened, you have to just get through it at the end of the day. And that there will be light at the end of the tunnel."
Jonathan Haggerty's win against Felipe Lobo was the latest installment of his legendary ONE tenure. The former flyweight Muay Thai king officially moved up to the bantamweight division in April 2023, defeating Nong-O (Muay Thai), Fabricio Andrade (kickboxing), and Lobo to become a two-sport world champion.

What's next for Jonathan Haggerty under the ONE Championship banner?
On September 6, Jonathan Haggerty is scheduled to defend his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title when the promotion returns to North America. Standing across from the UK superstar will be ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek, who is coming off two massive wins.
Superlek started with a non-title flyweight Muay Thai bout against Rodtang and won by unanimous decision. The Thai superstar then returned to his kickboxing throne and secured another unanimous decision against Japanese legend Takeru Segawa, which took place on January 28 at ONE 165.
