"You mean me?" - Laura Sanko gives witty comeback to fan's NSFW 'h*e' remark
UFC commentator Laura Sanko delivered a sharp and humorous response to a fan’s inappropriate remark on social media. In a thread discussing her commentary career, a fan praised Sanko’s work and argued she deserves more pay-per-view opportunities, writing:
“It is absolutely criminal that Laura Sanko has only commentated one PPV, a year ago. She’s fresh air.”
However, amid the compliments, one fan inappropriately wrote:
"[Laura Sanko] infinite times better than the h* last night."
Sanko quickly responded with her trademark wit, writing:
"The h* last night? You mean me?? 😂"

Sanko made history in 2021 when she became the first female commentator for UFC broadcast during Dana White's Contender Series season 5.
She broke another barrier in 2023, becoming the first female color commentator since Kathy Long at UFC 1 in 1993. UFC 293 in Sept. 2023 marked her first pay-per-view commentary appearance, further cementing her status in the sport.
When Laura Sanko shut down former fighter’s criticism of her commentary
Laura Sanko once faced criticism from former fighter Jamie Varner. The ex-WEC lightweight champion accused Sanko of "ruining the fights" with her commentary style, suggesting that a female UFC fighter like Holly Holm might be better suited for the role. Sanko, however, quickly responded with a pointed reminder of her experience in the sport.
Taking to Twitter, Sanko noted that she and Varner competed on the same Titan FC card in 2011, where they even shared a warm-up area. Recalling the moment she wrote:
"@jamievarner you and I actually fought on the same card in 2011 for Titan FC. We warmed up next to each other in the basement of the Memorial Hall building in KCK. My best friend braided your hair because you couldn't find anyone to do it. I remember thinking how cool it was at the time to be on a card with you. I had followed your career in the WEC and was a little star struck to be honest.”
She added:
"It's ok that you don't like my commentary, but respectfully, I've been a part of this game and training since 2006. I'm a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu and while I can't compare my career to yours I have in fact fought. And if UFC had a 105 division I would have fought a lot longer."
