UFC 281: "You're only as good as your last fight" - Michael Bisping claims Michael Chandler needs to beat Dustin Poirier to get out of 'weird position' in UFC and compete for the title
Michael Bisping believes a lot is at stake for Michael Chandler in his upcoming fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 281.
In a recently uploaded video, 'The Count' pointed out that Michael Chandler has failed to ever win two fights in a row during his stint in the UFC.
According to the former middleweight champion, 'Iron' needs to beat Poirier and build a winning streak in order to earn a title shot and go down in history as one of the greats of the sport.
"Chandler wants to fight for the belt. Chandler knows that he needs to get on a win streak. He hasn't done that yet in the UFC. He beat Dan Hooker, then lost to Gaethje and Oliveira and then he just beat Tony Ferguson. If he really wants to fight for the belt, he has to beat Dustin Poirier and if he wants to be known as one of the greats, he has to beat Dustin Poirier. Michael Chandler, coming into this one, is kind of in a weird place because, yes, he has been a legend. The fights have been phenomenal... [but] in this sport, you're only as good as your last fight. Regardless of how good that fight was, if you lost, you're a loser," said Michael Bisping.

Chandler has had four UFC appearances and has won two of them. In his last outing, 'Iron' brutally knocked out Tony Ferguson with a front kick at UFC 274.
Michael Chandler believes him vs Conor McGregor would be a huge fight
In the lead-up to UFC 281, Michael Chandler sat down to interact with MMA media. During his time there, 'Iron' discussed a potential scrap with Irish superstar Conor McGregor.
Chandler believes a fight between the two would be huge and could do massive pay-per-view-numbers.
"There's a ton of talk about it. I can't go a day without people tagging and posting and talking about me fighting Conor if and when he does come back. And I love the idea of fighting him at his biggest, at his baddest, at his most dangerous at 170lb. He looks big right now... I think we would do staggering pay-per-view numbers and I think he knows that I am the type of opponent that he wants to come back and fight."
McGregor is arguably the biggest name in the MMA world and holds most of the top records when it comes to pay-per-view numbers. So, regardless of the opponent, the Irishman's comeback fight will likely do very well in terms of pay-per-view buys.
