Diaz locked horns against Jorge Masvidal in a 10-round boxing match on July 6. The event was held at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
The fight turned out to be a high-pace affair where both fighters threw a large number of strikes against each other. The bout went the 10-round distance and in the end, the Stockton native was declared the winner via majority decision. The three judges scored the bout 95-95, 97-93 and 98-92 in favor of Diaz.
Diaz and Paul have shared the squared circle in the past. The two faced off in a 10-round boxing match in August 2023. The American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas served as the venue for that event.
The fight was a one-sided affair where Paul outclassed his opponent for the majority of the fight. The contest went the 10-round distance and 'The Problem Child' got his hand raised via unanimous decision. The three judges scored the fight 98-91, 98-91 and 97-92 in favor of Paul.
Now, after Diaz's win over Masvidal, people might be curious to see a rematch between the Stockton native and Paul. However, if the fight does become a reality, it is uncertain whether the rematch will be a boxing match or an MMA fight.
So, it remains to be seen how Diaz's story will unfold in the coming months.
