“You’ve got to have no quit in you” - Jonathan Haggerty on what it takes to achieve world championship greatness

Reigning and undisputed ONE bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty of the United Kingdom is widely considered one of the best fighters in the world today, pound-for-pound, and regardless of fighting discipline.

One of the biggest reasons for his success is the Englishman's incredible work ethic. There's no one who works harder than 'The General' in training, which is why he has been able to achieve what he has in his career.

In a recent YouTube video on his official channel titled 'Retrospect with Jonathan Haggerty', the 27-year-old explained how he was able to beat Thai legend Sam-A Gaiyanghadao in 2019, and exactly what is needed for success at the top of the food chain.

'The General' said:

"You’ve got to have no quit in you. You got to show your opponent that you're there to stay and you're not going anywhere."

Haggerty looked back and described his victory over Sam-A:

"You could just see him there wobbling. But in the fifth round, when I got that knocked down, I think we just all knew, if you just keep on your fight now, keep moving, you've won this fight, you won the title."
