"You've had ten title fights, why're you hating on me?" - Julianna Pena on Daniel Cormier dismissing her claim to Amanda Nunes Trilogy
Julianna Pena is not happy with Daniel Cormier's remarks regarding her demand for a rematch against Amanda Nunes.
Following her loss at UFC 277 against Amanda Nunes via unanimous decision, Pena called for a rematch against the reigning bantamweight champion in an Instagram post.
'The Venezuelan Vixen' pointed out that she gave Nunes a rematch within six months, and that their record stands at 1-1.
In a recent interview with ESPN MMA, Julianna Pena stated that since both she and Nunes do not have a fight scheduled, a trilogy would be what the fans would want.
Pena went on to give her reaction to Cormier's statements in an appearance on DC and RC, where he argued that a third fight between the two women isn't "warranted." 'DC' said:
“The work hasn’t warranted an immediate rematch, because if not, then every champion that loses gets an immediate rematch. It’s not like that. It just doesn’t work that way."
'The Venezuelan Vixen' responded to the same by laying out why she thinks she should be given the fight. She reminded everyone that she was the first woman to win The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) and has been active in her division ever since they allowed women to compete in the UFC.
Julianna Pena went on to state that she returned to fighting after tearing four out of five ligaments in both knees as well as giving birth. She continued to question Cormier about his own title fight opportunities:
"'DC' you had ten title fights, why are you hating on me for wanting to get a trilogy. Ten? I think that's the most title fights in UFC history."
It remains to be seen whether the 33-year-old will secure the trilogy bout she wants against Amanda Nunes in the future.

Chael Sonnen shares his thoughts on potential trilogy fight between Julianna Pena and Amanda Nunes
Chael Sonnen recently gave his thoughts on his YouTube channel about a potential third bantamweight fight between Julianna Pena and Amanda Nunes.
'The Lioness' dominated her opponent in their last fight at UFC 277 which went the distance, resulting in Nunes winning her bantamweight belt back. Pena called for a third fight and further stated that if they fought again, Nunes would not be able to "touch her."
Chael Sonnen recalled their first two fights and stated that if the trilogy materialized, there could be a very different result:
"Before you think you can dismiss that, before you think your lying eyes showed you a 25 minute beating, those same lying eyes showed you Julianna on top of Amanda with Amanda tapping out and begging for mercy."
