ONE flyweight kickboxing world champ Superlek Kiatmoo9 teaching Cory Sandhagen some new tricks

Superlek Kiatmoo9 was recently seen helping an unexpected fighter in training.

‘The Kicking Machine’ reminded everyone that he’s one of the best strikers on the planet by securing the ONE flyweight kickboxing world championship on January 13th. Although world-class MMA fighters have evolved as strikers, they can still learn plenty from purists like Superlek.

UFC bantamweight Cory Sandhagen understands the benefits of training with a Thai world champion. The American met up with Superlek to improve his technique before fighting in the Octagon again. Beyond Kickboxing posted the video on Twitter with the caption:

Sandhagen is preparing to fight the always dangerous Marlon Vera on March 25th. The number five-ranked bantamweight is coming off an impressive win against Yadong Song and looks to take one step towards a title shot by defeating ‘Chito.’

Meanwhile, Superlek last fought at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video, taking out Daniel Puertas to become the flyweight world kickboxing champion. He is now looking to defend his featherweight title for the first time against a well-known Muay Thai superstar.

Superlek Kiatmoo9 returns to the Circle against Rodtang Jitmuangnon

Superlek Kiatmoo9 was initially supposed to fight Ilias Ennahachi at ONE Fight Night 6 before Ennahachi vacated the belt. ‘The Kicking Machine’ was then matched up against Daniel Puertas on short notice, which led to him winning the vacant ONE flyweight kickboxing world championship.

Earlier in the night, Rodtang Jitmuangnon, who was supposed to fight Puertas, took on Jiduo Yibu in his kickboxing return. ‘The Iron Man’ dominated his way to a unanimous decision, validating his hopes of becoming a two-sport world champion. The reigning flyweight Muay Thai world champion is expected to earn a title shot next, which has now been confirmed.

On March 24th, Rodtang will take on Superlek at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video with the flyweight kickboxing world title on the line. The highly-anticipated matchup will be free to watch on Amazon Prime Video for all North American subscribers.
