Paddy Pimblett explains his mentality going into his massive fights

Paddy Pimblett is very confident ahead of his first UFC pay-per-view bout this Saturday night at UFC 282.

Paddy Pimblett joined the UFC 282 Weigh-In Show, where he spoke with the panel about his upcoming fight and his confidence ahead of his lightweight bout with Jared Gordon. During the conversation, he mentioned that he doesn't feel any pressure heading into his fights, saying:

"I don't feel pressure, lad. If you feel pressure, you're in the wrong sport...This is what I'm meant to do, I'm meant to do this...The only time maybe you get a few butterflies is when you to another gym to spar cause you don't know if they're going to try and take your head off or if they're going to be nice."

'The Baddy' also added that he might get a little nervous backstage, but once his walkout music hits the speakers and it's time to make the walk to the octagon, that feeling goes away, saying:

"You get a little few little butterflies before the song comes on standing there but when that song comes on, lad, that's it. And my walkout song comes on, I'm at home like this is where I'm meant to be. I don't feel more comfortable anywhere else than walking out to that cage."

Pimblett will be looking to continue his momentum in the UFC and put on an impressive performance that moves him into the UFC lightweight rankings. 'Flash' is the toughest test of his career as he's an experienced fighter who has competed in the promotion since 2017.

Ariel Helwani takes a dig at Paddy Pimblett during MMA Awards acceptance speech

#WorldMMAAwards results: @arielhelwani wins “Journalist of the Year” award

“Not bad for a content creator,” he says after his 13th straight win. https://t.co/rle4y9hZZw

The beef between Paddy Pimblett and Ariel Helwani has been a hot topic this week after the UFC lightweight made personal remarks about The MMA Hour host during his podcast with his guest Dana White.

One of the remarks he made during the podcast was that Helwani was a content creator and not a real journalist. The Canadian fired back at 'The Baddy' and even took another dig at him during his acceptance speech at the World MMA awards, which was presented by Fighters Only Magazine.

After winning the Journalist of the Year award for the thirteenth straight year, Helwani opened his acceptance speech by saying, 'Not bad for a content creator.' Since The MMA Hour host fired back at 'The Baddy' for his remarks, many in the MMA community, including fighters, have sided with him.
