“He looks like a w**re on the side of the road” - Petr Yan silences Sean O'Malley with fiery comeback after ‘Sugar’ jibed at the Russian

As expected, things got intense between Sean O'Malley and Petr Yan during the UFC 280 press conference ahead of Saturday night. Arguably nothing was cheered more than the Russian's hilarious comments about his opponent.

The event in Abu Dhabi this weekend looks poised to be one of the greatest in the history of the sport, as a handful of high-profile matchups are on display with real animosity brewing between the fighters. Despite there being two title fights, many are most looking forward to the bantamweight clash featuring fan-favorite 'Sugar'.

In response to comments made about his height, Petr Yan fired back at Sean O'Malley for his new style ahead of their clash, insisting he looks like a road-side prostitute:

"It's not about the height, just look at him. He's like a w**re on the side of the road."

The 27-year-old American acknowledged Yan's jab, admitting that the insult by his opponent was "good." Although some people dislike it, the flashy bantamweight always comes in with a fresh new style and color, making him stand out from the rest of the athletes on stage.

While some believe that his height could play a big factor in the outcome of the fight, 'No Mercy' is no stranger to facing competitors taller than him. In a fight-of-the-year contender clash, the former 135lb champion scored a decision win against Cory Sandhagen, a fighter of the same height as O'Malley.

The history between Sean O'Malley and Petr Yan

Many fans were shocked that Petr Yan, the No.1 bantamweight in the world, decided to accept a fight against Sean O'Malley despite being ranked an enormous 10 places above him, but this isn't the first time the two have clashed.

Last year, following his disqualification title loss to Aljamain Sterling, the 29-year-old found himself urging 'Funk Master' to accept a rematch with him. However, as the newly crowned champion was injured, the Russian was forced to wait.

O'Malley attempted to take advantage of the situation and called for a fight against the 135er in amusing fashion. Yan commented back with a hilarious response but was instead matched up against Cory Sandhagen.
