'Rampage' Jackson wants to avenge his 'haunting' loss, calls for Shogun Rua rematch

Rampage described his loss against Shogun as a ‘haunting’ one

Quinton Rampage Jackson has been in good form with a 4-match winning streak, winning his first three bouts in Bellator MMA in his short two-year span there and recently returned to the UFC and picked up a decision win over Fabio Maldonado this past April. When the fans kept asking him who he wants to face next, Rampage called out for a rematch with his PRIDE FC opponent Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua by posting an old picture with him on his Instagram.

The two former UFC champions had fought back in April 2005 in Japan, in which Shogun ended up on the winning side after plastering Jackson with soccer kicks in the first round.

A lot of people asking who I wanna fight next.. I think Shogun owes me a rematch,I should have pulled out of our 1st fight but my pride wouldn't let me. I will never fight injured again, this loss still haunts me.

It’s been seven months since Shogun lost to Ovince Saint Preux at the UFC Fight Night 56, which marks his 6th defeat in his past 9 fights. The  former UFC and PRIDE champion will have to prove himself as he faces Antonio Nogueira for a second time at UFC 190 on August 1, 2015.
