On wishing whether her fights lasted longer than a few seconds
Rousey thinks her fights are good being small in duration as she can have more fights. She admits that her total fight time is limited and the faster she finishes her opponents off, the longer career she can have.
On having recovered from an eating disorder and having Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) growing up
“It feels very liberating to free of the guilt that used to come with every meal. And I feel like I have so much extra space in my brain now that I'm not constantly thinking about the next meal and trying to eat as much as possible every day while still losing weight” says Rousey. She feels amazing admitting eating a delicious french toast that morning. Ronda says that she had a speech trainer to help her with CAS, who didn’t make her feel inferior. She encourages all the people and children suffering from CAS that they can overcome anything and gives a shout out to all the speech trainers.
On the constant buzz around the Cyborg fight and her sincere opinion on her
She quirkily described the situation by saying, “Having the same conversation over and over reminds me of bartending, and I'm thankful for the training I received having to deal with stupid questions from repetitive drunks. I only did it because I knew I'd receive tips at the end.” Ronda sincerely thinks that Cyborg is just waiting to get offered the right money to get her a** kicked and that Cyborg can easily make the weight cut to 135 lbs. if she stopped taking steroids. She continued by saying, “She consulted with Mike Dolce (my current nutritionist) before I ever started working with him and after consulting with her he said he could get her in "the best shape of her life" at 135. She then started being represented by Tito Ortiz and all talk stopped. The delay is all about money, not her weight.” She states that Cyborg needs her and eventually she would cut the weight for the fight. “I would like me kicking her a**, for it to be my retirement fight but whether she steps up or not I'll walk away undefeated and happily ever after regardless.”
On fighting Mayweather in a ruleless fight and how would Fedor’s return to the octagon be
She admits that Mayweather is one of the best boxers of all time and in a boxing bout he might win but in a ruleless fight she can take on anybody in the world and has the confidence to come out trumps. On Fedor's return, she says, “Ring rust is a real serious thing that is hard to overcome and of course I wish Fedor the best, but that much of a layoff would affect anyone's performance, which is why I fight so often.”
On her favourite UFC male fighter, hype song before fights, movie and greatest achievement
According to Rousey, her favourite UFC male fighter would be Demetrious Johnson as he is the most well-rounded fighter in the UFC and his fight against Dominic Cruz is one of her favourite fights ever. She believes in complete silence before a fight. “I have complete silence before I walk out before a fight. No talking in the locker room, no music, cell phones on silent. If I hear a ding from you taking a video you're gonna get your own private Rowdy Glare.” Ronda’s favourite movie is Leon the Professional. Her greatest achievement is winning an Olympic medal for Judo.
On how many years she thinks she has left in the UFC and whether she would join the WWE after retiring
Ronda explains that if she has more five round fights then her total fight time would reduce in longevity. On the WWE she said, “Definitely. I loved being in Wrestlemania and will find a way to get back in the squared circle, I just have no clue when. And any real wrestling fan would want to be surprised anyway.”
Is Ronda afraid of being misinterpreted by the media due to her exponential rise in fame
She admits she has no control over her image in the media and tries not to get distracted. “You can never truly know anyone through only media anyway. If anything I just try to keep in mind that I'm an entertainer and not a politician or Miss America” says Rousey.
Lastly her advice to young women who want to make it big in the world of MMA
“My advice for any woman trying to break into a male-dominated career, I'd say the greatest thing you can do is always keep in mind that you always have the right to be there.”
