Sean O'Malley disagrees with Dana White condemning Jared Gordon for strategy against Paddy Pimblett

Sean O'Malley has sided with fellow fighter Jared Gordon following Dana White's criticism of Gordon's strategy in the third round of his fight with Paddy Pimblett at UFC 282.

Gordon's eagerness to complete a takedown in round 3 was criticized by White in the post-fight press conference. The UFC president stated that 'Flash' threw the fight away in the third round. He also reiterated his belief that fighters should avoid letting the fight go to a decision, as the judges can be unpredictable.

On a recent episode of Sean O'Malley's BROMALLEY podcast, 'Sugar' discussed White's comments regarding the UFC 282 co-main event:

"I usually agree with Dana, I usually do. He's the boss. But him saying that Jared should have done more in the third round, in my mind Jared was up 2-0, and why risk it? In that sense. He already beat Paddy the first two rounds... Dana's running a business too, he's doing what he thinks he needs to do."

Paddy Pimblett's decision victory stirred up plenty of controversy, as many felt that 'Flash' had secured the win on the judges' scorecards.

The first two rounds were close, but Gordon appeared to land more significant blows over the first 10 minutes. The third round delivered less action, with 'Flash' controlling 'The Baddy' against the cage for the majority of the round.

Gordon has called for a rematch to take place at UFC 286 in London in March 2023, but Pimblett is yet to reply.

Sean O'Malley thinks Jake Paul would 'f**k Paddy up' in boxing

Jake Paul recently called out Paddy Pimblett and offered to fly him to Puerto Rico for a sparring session at his boxing gym. 'The Problem Child' also offered the Scouser $1 million if he 'won' the spar.

The callout stemmed from Pimblett's claim that Paul's recent fight against Anderson Silva was fixed.

'The Baddy' was eager to accept the invitation, however, following his fight at UFC 282, Sean O'Malley believes that would be a poor decision. Pimblett was hit with dozens of hooks during his fight with Jared Gordon, and the Scouser's stand-up has been identified as his weak link.

During a recent episode of the BROMALLEY podcast, 'Sugar' and his brother discussed how a Pimblett vs. Paul sparring session would play out.

Sean O'Malley said this:

"Paddy's punches are not clean punches... There's a difference between finding people's chins and being accurate, and just throwing just to f***ing throw and land on something... Jake's a lot bigger than Paddy, a lot cleaner boxing, Jake probably f***s Paddy up in a boxing match."
