Sean Strickland urges Elon Musk to acquire Instagram after being flagged for violating community guidelines yet again

Sean Strickland is arguably the most outlandish fighter in the UFC, and someone who appears to have very little filter on what they say. The middleweight contender has been banned from various social media platforms in the past, including Instagram and Twitter.

But following Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter, Strickland's account was re-instated, much to his surprise. On being unbanned, Strickland tweeted:

"What?!?! @elonmusk unbanned me!!!!!!!!! I don't think trans-women are women?? Test test test... ???"

Sean Strickland has now urged Elon Musk to buy Instagram too following the middleweight being flagged for a recent post about storming the Capitol Building in 2021.

Strickland took to Twitter to call on Musk, and said this:

"Instagram is absolutely f***ing trash... @elonmusk it's time man... we should start a gofund me "buy Instagram"."

Musk changed the policies of Twitter when he took charge of the social media company, and relaxed many of the restrictions that were placed on users' free speech. For someone like Sean Strickland, who has no qualms about speaking his mind, Elon Musk's Twitter takeover was ideal.

Sean Strickland opens up about fighting Paulo Costa

Sean Strickland called for a fight with fellow middleweight contender Paulo Costa several weeks ago during an interview with MMAJunkie.

Up until this week, 'Borrachinha' had faced negotiation issues with the UFC over a new deal, and a bout with Strickland did not seem likely. But following Paulo Costa's announcement that he had re-signed with the promotion, there was speculation about a clash between the middleweights.

Both men are 1-2 in their last three fights, and a win over a top 10 ranked middleweight would do wonders for both fighters' title aspirations.

Strickland appears to have grown tired of the rumors, and took to Instagram to end all speculation. 'Tarzan' stated that the UFC want Costa to face Khamzat Chimaev next, and a loss to Strickland would derail any hype for a Costa-Chimaev matchup.

"I keep getting tagged with Costa, thi sh*t ain't gonna happen. I'll tell you why, [the UFC] want him to fight f***ing [Khamzat] Chimaev. You have these nerds, you have these number crunchers online looking at the analytics, and that is the fight that makes the UFC the most money. I'm not f***ing hating on the UFC, 'cause if the UFC makes money then I make money... now the UFC's thinking, 'What if Sean beats Costa?' So then going into the Chimaev fight, [Costa] has a lot less hype..."
