"Security was off the chain" - When Nina-Marie Daniele shared first-hand experience of witnessing Khabib Nurmagomedov attack Conor McGregor's team
The infamous brawl following Khabib Nurmagomedov’s victory over Conor McGregor in Oct. 2018 remains one of the most chaotic moments in UFC history. After submitting McGregor in the fourth round to defend his lightweight title, Khabib leaped out of the octagon and confronted McGregor’s teammate Dillon Danis, sparking a melee that spilled into the crowd.
Meanwhile, McGregor traded blows inside the cage with Khabib’s teammates. Both fighters and their entourages faced suspensions and fines from the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Khabib was fined £380,000 and banned for nine months, while McGregor received a six-month suspension and a £38,000 fine.
Reflecting on the mayhem, UFC interviewer Nina-Marie Daniele shared her thoughts in a YouTube video on the UFC's official channel, calling it an unforgettable moment in combat sports:
“I was there when I saw Conor and Khabib fight. And Khabib jumped the cage and tried to beat the sh*t out of Dillon Danis. And that is the greatest UFC moment to ever go down in history… That was hilarious, intense and it’ll never be recreated. Security was off the chain, the crowd went wild. Holy f**k.”
