Video: Trailer for CM Punk's UFC Documentary “The Evolution of Punk” Finally Releases

The documentary is titled “The Evolution of Punk”

On December 6, 2014, CM Punk flung the Internet Wrestling Community into a frenzy when he announced that he had signed a multi-fight contract with Ultimate Fighting Championship also known as the UFC. Punk started his MMA training under Duke Roufus alongside fighters such as the former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis.

After a series of delays and tons of rumours spread online about potential opponents for Punk’s debut, CM Punk announced on UFC Unfiltered that he’ll debut against Mickey Gall at UFC 203.

Almost a year before this announcement, CM Punk had mentioned in an interview that the UFC were making a documentary about his journey from day one, to until his UFC debut. The producer of the said unnamed documentary, Rory Karpf started occasionally posting behind-the-scenes pictures from 21st July on his Twitter account, but now the wait is finally over and the trailer for the four-part documentary titled “The Evolution of Punk” finally released on August 9th and is set to debut its first episode on 15th August.

The documentary will probably include segments like his last days in WWE and the eventual departure. Initial days of his training, the shoulder injury he suffered in 2015; him being diagnosed with herniated disc which lead to him undergoing a surgery. The focus will also be on his personal life, his marriage etc.

Whatever the content may be, this documentary will give us the most authentic image of CM Punk and not some PG cardboard cut-out, which will help us in understanding him as a person and as an athlete. With the coming of this documentary, we wish CM Punk nothing but the best for his debut fight at UFC 203.
