TUF 22 finale results - Frankie Edgar KOs Chad Mendes
In the 2nd night of the ongoing 3-night UFC extravaganza in Las Vegas, it was the Ultimate Fighter 22 finale, with a high-stakes featherweight bout in the main event as Frankie ‘The Answer’ Edgar took on former 2-time title challenger Chad Mendes.
In what was an exciting match-up, with both men being strong wrestlers and terrific strikers, Frankie had the answer, pun intended, as he connected with a right-left combo on Chad that put ‘Money’ down before the referee John McCarthy jumped in.
In the co-main event, Ryan Hall defeated Artem Lobov to get a six-figure UFC contract, in the TUF 22 lightweight finale. The Jiu-jitsu wizard controlled the fight on the ground by repeatedly dragging the action to the ground, and threatening submissions all the time.
Hall was the last-minute replacement for Englishman Saul Rogers, who couldn’t compete in the finale after having trouble getting his visa on time. Rogers had notably beaten Hall in the quarterfinals, on his way to the final.
The event also saw streaking Lightweight fighter Tony Fergusson pick up a submission win over Edson Barboza in the second round, while Evan Dunham showed his vastly improved striking prowess against UFC veteran Joe Lauzon to pick up a unanimous decision win.
