UFC 308 fight change causes mass confusion
A now-deleted social media update by UFC on Sunday suggested that the rebooked fight between Robert Whittaker and Khamzat Chimaev may have been canceled again or pushed down the main card.
The two were originally set to fight in Saudi Arabia earlier this year but 'Borz' had to pull out due to an illness. They are scheduled to clash in a five-round battle in the co-main event of UFC 308 in October. However, the deleted tweet stated that a heavyweight fight between Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov had replaced the contest as the co-headliner.
Here's a screenshot of the tweet:
The post was quickly removed and another tweet re-confirming Whittaker vs. Chimaev as the co-main event was posted soon afterward.
The incident stirred confusion among the fans, who came up with their theories. One suggested that Chimaev may have requested a three-round fight for a better chance at winning. Another suspected it was an intern's honest mistake.

Dana White speaks on Donald Trump - "The most resilient human being I have ever met"
Dana White, a close friend and staunch supporter of Donald Trump, has once again been vocal about his relationship with the former president.
In an interview with Brian Kilmeade of One Nation on Fox News, the UFC CEO spoke highly of Trump:
"You take any of the greatest fighters of all-time, Trump is number one. The most resilient human being that I have ever met."
White also weighed in on the UFC fighters' and fans' liking for Trump:
"It's not that it's any real political side, we're for common sense. It's all everybody is looking for. Everybody wants the same thing and anybody in this room, if you let go of the media BS go away, we all want to make a good living, we all want to get a house, we want some nice cars, we want kids... It is just the media has created this divide in this country that needs to go away and hopefully soon it will."

Paulo Costa reacts to X ban in Brazil
After Elon Musk refused to comply with Judge Alexandre de Moraes' instruction to regulate hate speech and appoint a legal representative for X in Brazil by Aug. 29, 2024, X was banned in the country. The ban would remain till the tech mogul clears the $3 million-plus fine levied for the offense and appoints the requested representative.
Brazilian UFC fighter Paulo Costa, who is quite active on X, posted several times in reaction to the controversy. He even got involved in a beef with Hollywood actor Mark Ruffalo who blasted Musk online.
Costa also reacted to Brazil's court order that anyone trying to access X by using a VPN would be fined $50,000 Brazilian Reals (around USD 9) per day.
