Exclusive: Ronda Rousey talks about coming to India

Ronda Rousey in India?

In the world of Mixed Martial Arts, there is only one undisputed queen, and she is none other than the current UFC Bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey.

Ronda is currently the most recognizable female athlete in the world and is all set to defend the UFC Women’s Bantamweight title this weekend against the former boxing world champion, Holly Holm.

Before the fight, Ronda took part in the press conference during the Ultimate Media Day, and was asked about a wide range of questions. While Ronda patiently fielded the questions, I was present for the press conference and managed to ask her about the recent reports of Reebok trying to bring her down to India for a promotional tour.

While Ronda stated that she was unaware of the plans, she did mention that she would love to visit India, and with Ronda hinting at a potential sabbatical from the world of MMA after her fight with Holly, it will do a world of good if Ronda does, in fact, come to India in the near future. Below is the video:

Ronda is all set to come across her toughest challenge yet in Holly Holm – whose credentials in the world of boxing are legendary. Though, the odds are heavily stacked in favour of the Bantamweight Champion, you can never count out the ability of Holm, who has the potential to spring up a few surprises.

Holm’s world class boxing and the calibre to hang in and put up a fight would surely test the rampaging Rousey – who looks to notch up her seventh straight title defence. Pundits predict another first round finish and Ronda too would be gunning for the same.

UFC 193 is billed to surpass all UFC attendance records as it is the first UFC pay-per-view that is going to be held in a jam-packed Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. The card is quite stacked, with the focus on the fairer sex – as both the Bantamweight and Strawweight titles are on the line.

You can catch UFC 193 this Sunday, live and exclusively on Sony SIX and Sony KIX at 8:30 AM. We will also cover the event live from Melbourne, Australia.
