UFC Fight Night 143 Preview: Cejudo vs. Dillashaw - Early Preliminary Card
UFC Fight Night 143: Cejudo vs. Dillashaw is the first such UFC event set to take place on ESPN for their five-year new contract which came into effect in 2019.
The show will be broadcast on ESPN's digital partner, ESPN+.
The pay-per-view is set to be headlined by a huge fight with more than just title implications. With talk of UFC shutting down the UFC Flyweight Division, this might be their way of doing exactly that.
The UFC Bantamweight Champion, TJ Dillashaw, is one of the most dominant fighters in the UFC of late, and according to him, the UFC is paying him well to cut weight so that he can fight in the UFC Flyweight Division.
The Champion will challenge UFC Flyweight Champion, Henry Cejudo. If Dillashaw wins, he will be the third man and fourth fighter overall to hold two titles of two divisions simultaneously. There is also no saying what a win by TJ Dillashaw will mean for the future of the UFC Flyweight Division.
The card is huge, and the cancellation of the UFC 233 pay-per-view has only resulted in bolstering the cards of the events around January.
#1 Dennis Bermudez vs. Te'Jovan Edwards
Dennis Bermudez is in the midst of a huge losing streak. Since his loss to the Korean Zombie, Chan Sung Jung, his luck has not led to anything good for him.
In fact, some would say that Bermudez has been on a downward spiral, as he has lost in 3 Split Decision losses in a row, with him losing to Darren Elkins, Andre Fili, and Rick Glenn. He is in desperate need for a win, going up against the young prospect in the UFC, Te'Jovan Edwards.
Edwards lost his first fight in the UFC as well, but this will be his opportunity to see if he can do better.
