UFC Fight Pass: London gets 'Spider' vs 'Count'
After months of speculation and lack of progress in the rumoured match-up, UFC today finally announced that Michael ‘Count’ Bisping will take on Anderson ‘Spider’ Silva on February 27, 2016 in the main event of UFC Fight Pass: London.
With the promotion returning to London, it was a given that Michael Bisping would feature on the card and he had recently expressed interest in battling with the ‘Spider’. The event takes place Feb. 27 at The O2 in London. The entire event streams on UFC Fight Pass, the UFC’s digital streaming outlet – one that’s seen recent improvements with the quality of its lineups.
There was some talk about Bisping facing Mousasi, but that didn’t happen. It remains to be seen if ‘Dreamcatcher’ will be a part of the card. Bisping was in line to fight the Brazilian legend for the longest time, when he was champion between 2006 and 2013, but never could win the deciding fight when presented with the opportunity.
Both Bisping and Silva are veterans of the sport, aged 37 and 40 respectively. Anderson will be coming into this fight following a 9-month suspension following his last fight against Nick Diaz early last year, after he failed his post-fight drug test for banned substances.
