UFC News: Bruce Buffer Throws Valuable Insight On Conor-Khabib Rematch
What's the story?
UFC ring announcer, Bruce Buffer, has recently professed about the promotion's plans to relive the excitement for the much-sought-after rematch between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov, for the end of the year, 2019. The pair last squared off in a highly-anticipated showdown at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, for the main event at UFC 229, in a fight that defined Khabib Nurmagomedov as the king of the 155-pound division.
In case you didn't know..
On October 6th, 2018, UFC fans around the world were witness to one of the most infamous match-ups in mixed martial arts history. A bitter rivalry established between arguably the two greatest lightweight contenders of all time, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Conor McGregor, inevitably seemed to be leading to a monumental clash in the Octagon, between the two.
Khabib Nurmagomedov significantly dominated the proceedings of the fight, eventually submitting a very susceptible Conor McGregor, to a vicious neck crank in round number four. Moments after the win, Khabib was seen leaping over the cage before getting into a physical altercation with Conor McGregor's Jiu-Jitsu coach, Dillon Danis. The Nevada State Atheltic Commission has since governed the legal obligations of both fighters, who are waiting to hear the full extent of their suspensions, later this month.

The heart of the matter
Ring announcer and Octagon veteran, Bruce Buffer, has been in the business, for over two decades now. In a recent appearance with Express Sport, at the Atlantis Resort and Casino as a part of the PokerStars Players No Limit Hold'em Championship, Bruce Buffer was seen being explicit in his claims with regards to the possibility of Khabib-Conor 2. He said:
"I think you are going to find McGregor and Khabib will go at it before the end of the year. There is too much money involved, more so than last time."
UFC 229 reportedly reached a $2.4 million turnaround by the end of the event, making it the highest ever pay-per-view number in the history of the organization.
What's next?
A rematch between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor is inexorable, to say the least, and would be a shame if it ceases to take place. The virality generated from the first fight could only mean a bigger pay-day for both the fighters involved, as well as the promotion as a whole.
