UFC News: Rapper Cam'ron threatens to sue the UFC

The biggest card in UFC history could be the reason for the UFC’s latest legal troubles.

The UFC has just wrapped up what was arguably the biggest mixed martial arts (MMA) card of all time from Madison Square Garden in New York City, in which the UFC used the song ‘Welcome To New York City’ by rapper Cam’ron ft. Jay Z to heavily promote the event.

Cam’ron, however, apparently did not give the UFC permission to use his song to promote the contest, and will reportedly be seeking legal action towards UFC President Dana White and the organisation.

Cam’ron was quoted by LowKickMMA as saying:

“Second order of business is Dana White from the UFC, you been using my song all week to promote the Conor McGregor fight at Madison Square Garden,”

“The song, ‘Welcome To New York City’ featuring Jay Z, off my album ‘Come Home With Me’. Once again nobody reached out to me.

“I guess you know, it’s nobody’s fault because it’s the first time both of these companies are doing business with me, and somebody should have told them how I get down. We’ll be reaching out tomorrow, me and my lawyer, see you tomorrow.”

The card presented some of the most historic contests in recent memory, in which UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor made history by becoming the first man in promotion’s history to hold two titles in different weight classes simultaneously.

McGregor knocked out lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in the second round of their fight to secure the 155-pound title.

It appears though as the monumental event will not go down without controversy, as the UFC and Cam’ron may soon be heading to court to settle their issues. You can check out Cam’ron’s video expressing his displeasure with the UFC here:
