UFC News: Chris Cyborg blasts UFC following Featherweight Title snub
As per the reports of Fightsday.com, Cristiane Justino, who is also known as Cyborg, was left furious after being informed that she would not be contending for the UFC Featherweight Championship in the newly instated woman’s 145lbs division.
On the other hand, UFC claims that Cyborg declined a fight with both Holly Holm and Germain De Randamie, who will now battle it out to become the first ever Women’s Featherweight champion at UFC 208, which will be held in Brooklyn, New York on February 11th.
Cyborg took on Twitter to share her displeasure about the situation and claimed that she never refused to fight either Holly Holm or Germain De Randamie:
Only in the @UFC can a fighter 0-2 in the weight class below step up to fight for a new belt against a fighter who hasn't fought 145 n 5yrs https://t.co/LGek8mNPCt

.@mtsmedley1979 @HollyHolm I accepted Holm for brasilia. No fight was turned down I just asked for march date after body recovered from 140

Cyborg went on to say that she did not turn down the fighters, but the dates, as she was recovering from a brutal cut down to 140lbs for her previous fight with Lina Länsberg.
It feels like a punishment too! If my last fight was at 145 I could make the weight bcuz my body wouldn't need to recover from near death https://t.co/1iBjjmAHTq

As per the same report, the reason for UFC to create women’s 145 lbs division, was to get Cris Cyborg to compete in it, and she will face the winner of Holm Vs De Randamie at a later date in 2017.
