UFC News: Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov enter into a settlement; await further notice from the NSAC
What's the story?
On the precipice of the widely spoken of NSAC hearing in regards to the UFC 229 post-fight melee, Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov have both agreed to enter into settlements ahead of their scheduled trial set to take place on Tuesday, January 29th. The pair was last seen competing at the UFC 229 championship main event feature, an exhibition that was dominated by the current lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

On October 6th, 2018, combat sports legend and UFC sensation, Conor McGregor, was slated to return to the Octagon to face UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov. An unresolved feud took matters to the Octagon where the proceedings of the fight were heavily dictated by the Dagestani prodigy. After four rounds of utter wrestling dominance, Nurmagomedov scored the victory via a vicious neck crank, to retain his lightweight gold.
Moments after securing the win, Nurmagomedov was seen leaping off the cage before entering into a physical altercation with Conor McGregor's Jiu-Jitsu coach, Dillon Danis. Hell quickly broke loose at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, as members of both fighter's camps were seen brawling with each other. Further investigation into the matter revealed that a taunt exhibited by Dillon Danis provocatively persuaded Khabib into jumping over the Octagon. The Nevada State Athletic Commission took the case further, suspending both fighters from the sport, indefinitely, for their involvement in the incident.
The heart of the matter
Ahead of the much-awaited NSAC hearing of Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov, both parties in the case, have reportedly mutually agreed to settle. After being initially denied his entire purse money of $2 million for the fight, Nurmagomedov went on to receive half the amount from the withheld lot. Two other fighters who were identified to have attacked McGregor in the cage, Zubaira Tukhugov, and Abubakar Nurmagomedov, have also reportedly reached settlements.
A five-member panel from the Nevada State Athletic Commission is expected to be judges of the case, who are anticipated to be in favor of the settlement. Alongside Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov, UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, is also expected to receive a hearing in regards to his 'atypical findings' for oral Turinabol, ahead of his UFC 232 championship clash against Alexander Gustafsson.

Having two of its biggest pay-per-view attractions, now awaiting their judgements, the UFC's lightweight division has taken a back seat.
